Teeth grinding or clenching of the jaw can happen at day or at night while asleep
If jaw grinding is occurring while asleep, the person may not be aware of the damage being caused until visiting a dentist. Signs of teeth grinding include, saw and painful jaw muscles upon awakening, worn, or chipped teeth with the enamel exposed in places, and chewed and sore muscles on the inside of the cheeks, as well as headaches and face pain.
The use of hypnosis for teeth grinding aids in relieving any stress or tension that may be contributing to the grinding, while creating a new pattern of behaviour that avoids teeth clenching. Results between clients may vary, with each client having their own unique challenges to overcome.
